Kia EV6 Range
With the 58.0 kWh battery, the Kia EV6 Light (RWD) can drive up to 232 miles on a single charge.
With the 77.4 kWh battery, the Kia EV6 Long Range can drive up to 310 miles on a single charge.
Battery Charge Time
The Kia EV6 battery charges up to 80% in 18 minutes at a fast charging station.
Kia EV6 Charger
The Kia EV6 uses a CCS charging standard: a combined AC and DC inlet port.
The top of the inlet is a Type 2 connector, which is used for home-charging or at public slow & fast AC stations.
The upper & lower sections on the inlet are used for high-power during rapid DC charging.
The location of the Kia EV6 charging inlet can be found on the passenger side rear corner.

Kia EV6 12V Battery Upgrade
The factory Kia EV6 12V battery can be upgraded to lithium to take advantage of all that lithium batteries offer over conventional lead-acid batteries:
- Lighter-weight: LiFePO4 batteries are typically 1/3 the weight of their lead-acid counterparts. Less weight = more range.
- Longer-lasting – Lithium 12V batteries can have up to a 4x longer lifespan when compared to lead-acid.
- More durable – With less heft to carry, lithium 12V batteries can contain more robust packaging and often feature battery controllers to aid their function in harsh conditions
- Faster charging – Up to 4x faster charging compared to lead-acid
- More environmentally friendly – If batteries last 4x longer, they need to be replaced 4x less, leading to less waste.
- More money saved in the long term.
To upgrade your Kia EV6 12V battery, check out one of the companies below. Several US-based company offers lithium-iron (LiFePO4) batteries for the Kia EV6 that are a massive upgrade when compared to the conventional lead-acid batteries from the factory.
Remote Key Fob Battery
The Kia EV6 smart key fob uses a CR2032 battery. These batteries can sometimes be found in your grocery store, and can always be found online:

How do I change the battery in the Kia EV6 key fob?
To access the CR2032 battery, you’ll want to first separate the key fob halves by inserting and twisting a slotted screw driver into the recess on the end of your key fob where the physical key comes out.
The two halves should pry apart, where you will remove the old battery from the back half using a precision screwdriver to pop the battery out of it’s retainer.
Then reinstall the new battery in the same orientation and recombine the two halves to complete the job.
