Jump starting a Ford E-Transit
There are convenient terminals to connect the positive and negative battery cables, marked with a positive and a negative. Hook the positive up to the vehicle with the dead battery first, then to the vehicle you are jumping from.
Something to keep in mind: Traditional jumper cables are typically designed to handle the high amperage load of a starter motor. However, in the case of a hybrid vehicle, you are only attempting to power the 12-volt bus and therefore do not require such heavy-duty cables. It is recommended to use cables with a gauge size no larger than 14 – small motorcycle battery clamps should be sufficient.
