Drive Battery FAQs
How much do Ford F150 Lightning replacement drive batteries cost?
According to ‘Drive Electric‘, the price of a Ford F150 Lightning replacement traction battery is right around $32,086 for the standard battery pack and $35,960 for the extended battery pack, not including labor, shipping, and taxes.
One feature that makes the F150 lighting much more serviceable is the ability to replace individual battery modules. It is often not the entire battery that goes bad, but single modules that tend to fail, crippling the whole pack. These battery modules that make up the entire battery pack can cost up to $4,400 each.
All of these prices represent what a dealership might charge. Aftermarket and used batteries can likely be had for much cheaper.

Jump starting a Ford F150 Lightning
Located in the front-trunk under an interior panel, toward the passenger side of the vehicle, there are convenient terminals to connect the positive and negative battery cables, which will be marked accordingly. Hook the positive up to the vehicle with the dead battery first, then to the vehicle you are jumping from.
Something to keep in mind: Traditional jumper cables are typically designed to handle the high amperage load of a starter motor. However, in the case of a hybrid vehicle, you are only attempting to power the 12-volt bus and therefore do not require such heavy-duty cables. It is recommended to use cables with a gauge size no larger than 14 – small motorcycle battery clamps should be sufficient.
